The warmer weather is finally upon us, which means one thing for Chicagoans staying in the city this summer…going to festivals! This list covers some of the biggest festivals happening this June, all of which include some sort of live music entertainment. If you didn’t get your 3-day Lollapalooza ticket on time, check out this huge variety of musical events happening all over the city.

Andersonville Midsommarfest: June 9-10, Andersonville

Midsommarfest is Andersonville’s annual summer street festival, now entering its 47th year. Each year, nearly 50,000 people throng Clark Street from Foster to Catalpa for two days of music, dancing, kids’ entertainment, and delicious food. Vendors from around the region sell their wares to passers-by, while ethnic dance troupes and cutting-edge bands keep the party going.

Taste of Randolph Street: June 15-17, West Loop

Located in the city’s most famous restaurant row, the 15th annual Taste of Randolph Street takes place on Chicago’s Randolph Street corridor.  The Taste of Randolph Street is a food-centric festival in the West Loop, a neighborhood that boasts some of the best cuisine in the city. Along with two unique stages of incredible live entertainment, the festival features something new, a hidden DJ dance stage!

Chicago Pride Fest: June 22-23, Lakeview

Pride Fest showcases an eclectic lineup of arts & crafts, food and other vendors. It also features entertainment on two stages including one dedicated to some of Chicago’s finest GLBT performers.

Chicago Summerfest: June 23-24, Lincoln Park

This amazing festival is located just off of Lake Michigan in the heart of Lincoln Park. This two-day summer festival features live music, an upscale art show, great food and drink and a family area for the kids. $5 for adults.

Gay Pride Parade: June 24, Lakeview

Though much of the information for this year’s pride parade has not been released yet, each year is always a blast! Art meets politics in a fleet of floats, vehicles, and marchers along the parade route in Boystown.

Old St. Pat’s World’s Largest Block Party: June 29-30, West Loop

Oprah Winfrey dubbed this festival as “the place to meet your match” because of its claims that over 100 couples have met at the block party and later married. This “huge singles party” is attended by over 25,000 people and features great music and food. Admission is $40, weekend package, $75. Buying tickets in advance is recommended, as it always sells out. Admission includes 5 beverages (beer, wine, soda, or water). Must be 21 and over to attend.
