stitely soundboard: Making Music and Money

In 2010, Stitely Entertainment worked with numerous non-profit and charity organizations. Whether we provided a soloist, trio, full band or Brazilian dancers (see below), we really enjoyed being able to contribute to these events with the inspiring addition of live music. Working with these organizations is always a great experience because their members  have such a strong commitment to important causes and they put in tremendous effort to host innovative and fun-filled events.

One of the more creative galas in which we participated last year was the Marwen Paintbrush Ball.  The Marwen Foundation strives to teach under-served youth to be inspired and learn through art.

Their Paintbrush Ball in 2010 was their most successful fundraiser to date and raised over $700,000 for their art programs. The Paintbrush Ball allowed guests to participate in photography, sculpture, graffiti art, and other art forms to get a real taste of the classes Marwen students are able to take. Stitely’s own Stephanie Roger’s Band provided the music and added some flair to this creative affair!

Another organization with whom we worked last year was GriffithTutoring. Griffith Tutoring prepares at-risk high school students in Chicago for the ACT college entrance exam by providing ACT tutoring and mentoring from business professionals within the city. The Stitely Orchestra performed at their 4th Annual Spring Into ACTion Benefit at the River East Arts Center last April.  Their Spring Into ACTion Benefit is Griffith’s biggest fundraising event each year and provides support for their upcoming programs. It is also an opportunity for the volunteers to celebrate their past year of success.

In the fall, Stitely’s 312 Chicago band performed at an outdoor gala for the Wellness Place, an organization that provides free educational and support services for those whose lives have been affected by cancer. Hosted by the Wellness Place Auxiliary at the Barrington Hills Country Club, The Lavender Ball featured a raffle and auction as well as dancing.

Other Stitely groups performed for several diverse organizations such as the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, Access Community Health Network, HLB International, the InternationalAssociation of Fire Chiefs, the Foundation Fighting Blindness, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the American Heart Association. For something a little (or a lot) different, Stitely also brought Brazilian dancers to The NAYEN Conference for the Central States Rotary Youth Exchange.Check out some of the fun footage of the dancers on our YouTube channel.

Stitely Entertainment looks forward to performing for and working with more non-profit and charity organizations through out 2011.  We already  kicked off the year right, with a successful event at UNICEF’s Fourth Annual Message of Hope Gala in January. If you are a part of a charity organization with an upcoming event, don’t hesitate to give us a call.  We would love to enhance the success of your occasion!
