Official Opinion: Spooky Spots in Chicago

Looking for something spooky to do this weekend? With Halloween creeping up on us I figured it would be fun to highlight some of the spooky happenings in Chicago up until Halloween weekend. Ranging from historic ghost tours to haunted houses for all ages, one can definitely find a way to give themselves a good scare and get in the Halloween spirit.

If you are looking to enjoy a spooky afternoon out with the family the Matinee Supernatural Bus Tour of Chicago may just be the tour for you. Starting at 1 pm the luxury bus tour lasts for three and a half to four hours and is family friendly for children ten an up. Conducted by the original Chicago Ghost Hunter Richard Crowe you will be able to experience gangster ghost tales, the flight 191 crash site, cemetery legends, real Indian burial grounds, as well as many more ghost-haunted spots. There is minimal walking and even time for snack break (snacks not included) to recuperate and get ready for the next scary sight. Tickets are $48.95 for adults with a five dollar discount if you order online and $43.95 for children.

If spooky tales in the daylight does not get you frightened, then the Nighttime Supernatural Cruise of Chicago’s waterways, river, and lakefront might be your fancy. The two-hour cruise that boards at 9:30 pm and sets sail at 10 will share tales of the two ghost ships that sail the waters, as well as many other tragic events that have taken place in Chicago and left ghosts haunting the waterways and city. Tickets can be ordered by telephone or online. Adult tickets are $32.95 with a five-dollar discount when ordering online and children tickets are $27.95.

Not into rocky waters? Fear not, the Nighttime Supernatural Tour of Chicago will still leave chills going down your spine. Leaving at 7 pm the four-hour coach bus tour will allow you to visit haunted locations all over Chicago, such as the St. Valentines Day Massacre and Chicago’s most haunted block in Chinatown. You will also hear original tales of the Rosemary Baby and the secrets of the Streeterville curse. Tickets are available both by telephone and online. Adult tickets are $48.95 with a five dollar discount if you order online and children tickets are $43.95.

If supernatural spirits, curses, and massacre locations are not scary enough for you, then I would recommend hitting up the following VERY SCARY award wining Haunted Houses in the Chicago area.
