Official Opinions: Fall Concerts Preview

With all of the excitement of Chicago’s outdoor summer music festivals winding down, it’s time to turn to those indoor venues, where your favorite  band might just be coming to town. I’m going to share of the big highlights of this fall’s concert season with you – mark your calendars, because these will be shows you won’t want to miss out on!

Lucky Boys Confusion – 9/4/2010 – House of Blues: If you like pop punk and ska, then this is a show for you. They play with a unparalleled energy and ferocity that you will only find among ska fans!

Vampire Weekend – 9/5/2010 – Aragon Ballroom: For you indie lovers out there, you’ve probably had this marked down for weeks. But for those of you looking for something new and edgy, this is the show for you! Guaranteed to be where the hipsters are that night!

Billy Idol – 9/8/2010 – The Riviera Theatre: Gritty punk/post punk is what Billy Idol does. If you’re looking to rock out for the night, come check it out. You definitely won’t regret it!

Dave Matthews Band – 9/17 and 9/18 – Wrigley Field: Personally, I’m not a huge DMB fan, but a lot of people are and this is probably going to be one of the biggest concerts of the fall. If you’re a DMB fan or are just looking for a cool concert experience at Wrigley, this will be a fun one for you to check out!

Jackson Browne – 9/23 – The Chicago Theatre: If you’re looking for a more relaxed folk rock experience, Jackson Browne is the way to go. The iconic singer/songwriter is a fantastic live performer – check out his albums Live Acoustic Vol. 1 &2 to get a taster!

These are just a few of the big names rolling through Chicago this fall, but there are countless other concerts going on all over the city this fall that I haven’t mentioned, so get looking!
