Wedding Wednesday: Ways to Plan on a Budget

Times are tough (or at least my college bank account and credit card statement say so) and the last thing you want is for your special day to break the bank. I figured that on this Wedding Wednesday, it would be helpful to provide a few links to articles about helping you save money and still have a great day!

General Saving: This article at realsimple.com gives 25 tips on saving, covering everything from food to photographers. I also recommend checking out The Broke Ass Bride – a website dedicated to saving money on your wedding!

Food: Thanks to this article at CBS Money Watch you have 10 tips on how to save money on Food for your reception. Food tends to eat up (HA! No pun intended) a large portion (I’m sorry, the food puns are just so easy) of most budgets, so rest at ease – this article provides some really great ideas!

Those articles are really just a jumping off point: if you really want to save money, you’ll take the time to do some research! There are all sorts of resources out there for you. Just remember, the KEY to saving money is to create a budget, stick to it and PRIORITIZE. You may have to make a few sacrifices along the way, but trust me, you’ll stress less and have just as much fun!

Go forth and save $$$,

Derek, Marketing Intern
