Official Opinions: these dresses are no wipe out

If you are a crafty “bride-to-be” and in need of some prize money, this is the contest for you.  Head out to Costco or Sam’s Club and stock up on the Charmin so you can get to work on your wedding dress! Yes, that’s right, a dress made of toilet paper.  Don’t worry, this won’t send your wedding down the drain, and you could win up to $1000 dollars for the winning dress design!  Just hurry because this year’s deadline for entry submissions is May 15th!

In its 6th year running, the Toilet Paper Wedding Dress contest from Cheap Chic Weddings draws national attention each year.  Much like the Stuck at Prom duct tape prom dress scholarship contest, creativity is key. You really have to go big or go home with this one!

Each entry must include a dress and headpiece made ENTIRELY of toilet paper pieces that are taped, glued and/or stitched together. Last year’s winner drew inspiration from Gone With the Wind, using origami detailing on her hat. So cool! The website has galleries of previous years’ winning entries if you need inspiration, or just want to see what these do-it-yourselfers have managed to design.

Don’t be fooled…some of these dresses are pretty stylish!

Check out the detail on this dress! It's one of my favorites.

I just pray for these brides that they have no rain on their big day, because having your wedding dress melt as you make your way down the aisle would be no good!
